Finland based Helsinkirecords.com, known as "HERE" in the industry, was founded by Maki Kolehmainen in 2000. Located in the picturesque capital city, Helsinki, it is convenience of location and a good working environment all rolled into one.

Maki, a respected artist/composer in the Scandinavian music scene, had a simple concept: combine top-notch producing, great production quality, hit songs, in house vocal coaching and an inspirational working environment with a record company! This “all in one stop” concept has proven a success. This is apparent, since HERE has been involved in more than 40 top ten singles, over 30 gold records and many platinum or multi-platinum records.

HERE has been signing and developing artists for development deals with the majors. This “cherry picking” is proving to be highly profitable for both indie labels like HERE and the majors. So far, HERE has scored solidly with every signing, getting good record sales and radio airplay from their artists.

HERE is also the “go to” place for other record companies looking for songs and/or productions . For example, the highly successful Idol and Pop Star shows have both been produced at HERE, even going so far as to shoot videos in the recording and lounge areas of the studio. HERE’s clients include Edel, Sony/BMG, Warner and EMI. Recently, HERE’s work has been making inroads in the coveted Russian market. HERE produced the Eurovision winner from Russia for 2004, Natalia Podolskaya and worked later also on her record. The most popular female vocalist in Russia, Valeriya, has been also produced by HERE. Helsinkirecords has worked actively within Russian popular music production - for instance the popular Russian show Fabrika, which is a combination of Idol and Big Brother TV show formats, was in production at HERE.
